Make Mardi Gras a National Holiday

Nearly half of all Americans celebrate Mardi Gras, or Fat Tuesday, according to a national survey, yet U.S. Congress doesn't recognize Mardi Gras as a national holiday.

To officially address this issue, Mardi Gras cuisine king Zatarain's, serving up New Orleans-Style cuisine like Jambalaya, Gumbo and Dirty Rice for more than 120 years, has teamed up with the ultimate sport mom Olivia Manning, mother to quarterbacks Peyton and Eli, to petition Congress to declare Mardi Gras a national holiday.

Visit www.MotionforMardiGras.com to sign the petition to make Mardi Gras a national holiday.

You'll also find recipes and family activities to recreate the fun of Mardi Gras whether in New Orleans or New York.
